Have you seen this ad from Qwest? Brilliant on many levels.
1. Funny. Even my five year old laughed at this one, though she may have missed the point about how much her dad cherishes her photos.
2. Memorable. It has that, “Have you seen that ad…” quality to it.
3. Viral. Oh, there’s that word again. We all aspire to do something viral but you have to get lucky. And in Qwest’s case, they probably have. Just recently added to YouTube, it will soon be making the rounds to your RSS feed or Inbox very soon.
4. Strong call to action. I don’t want to lose my kids photos and having a backup service that prevents this for the masses (or for those of us too lazy to save them elsewhere) is appealing.
The commercial was done by DraftFCB who is undoubtedly going to get some kuddos for this like this post from Ad Week. The only downside I see is that while this is a great ad, people may forget the brand that gave it to you is Qwest. Then again, I am blogging about Qwest and have now used the name “Qwest” five times in this post not to mention the tags for this post.

Yeah, funny when I had a problem with my internet billing and modem that Qwest didn’t automatically offer to upgrade me to the faster and cheaper service. FAIL.
