You might have seen the latest ads on television for Coleman Campsite – The Original Social Networking Site.
These ads are a great play on words of what a lot of people are talking about these days: social networking. Coleman’s brilliance is taking an activity that people are doing all day long and bringing the idea of being social with friends back to one of the places it started. Around a campfire. A place many people have probably been getting too far away from these days.
Watch the ad, it’ll make you want to camp. Better yet, it’ll make you want to buy camping supplies.
Explore the site a little and you’ll find ways to promote this campaign through Facebook and some cool iPhone apps. I particularly like having a latern within a phone! Both are great examples of using some simple social media tools to enhance a strong campaign idea.
There is nothing over the top with the design of the site or the features – as it should be. This site and promotion are as simple and relaxed as life is on a campground. Nice job Coleman!
