In the past 10 years online marketing has done nothing but change. Just think about how far we’ve come. Major companies got online with a website, or online brochure and now we have young children with their own blogs to share their artwork http://www.eddiesmart.blogspot.com/. Today we post videos, photos, share real-time information and so much more.
Posting videos on the web has become an excellent way to tell a story and share with the public at no cost. We now have the ability to touch an indefinite amount of people and not have to pay a crazy sum of money (:30 second Super Bowl ads are about $2 million each.) Online videos allow marketers to share time sensitive information, educate do-it-yourselfers and more.
The American Angus Association recently launched a campaign called “I am Angus.” Through this initiative they will post videos to their youtube channel about American Angus breeders. I must say, they nailed it on their 5:30 video about Clinton Laflin
. The entire piece was well done! From the footage, camera angles, non-scripted voices to the choice of music, THUMBS UP!! This video says so much and can educate us on so many levels. From the words said, to the beautiful American landscape and fancy black cattle, you just gotta love it. Clinton’s dad says “he’s taught me a lot more about life than I’ve taught him.” Needless to say, this video pulled on my heartstrings.
So, I”ll be checking out this YouTube channel from time to time, to see what other stories the Angus Association has to tell. And by the way, yes, this is a form of Social Media we’ve all been blogging about this year. We’d love to sit down with your people and find out what strategy makes sense for your marketing dollars for 2010.
(And to those UNEDUCATED, radical, animal activists, please take a look at this video and learn that cattle are raised on grass in wide open spaces across the American landscape and afford ranchers to carry out a beautiful lifestyle.)

Even beginners can post videos. Its a great, and easy way to get your information online…sorry can’t write more, I have to go eat a steak now.
Thanks for the read! And keep eating those steaks, burgers, roasts, chops, ribs…..YUM!
Many companies that don’t think that videos or social media make sense; aren’t trying to get into the psyche of the customer.
I strongly believe that people want to buy from a company they trust and know with a form of intimacy that can come from knowing the corporate story that is told in a social format.
You nailed Shawn. Nice way for the public to peek in on you before they contact you directly. Thanks for the fly-by.
