I use #4 (above) as an example of how executives should allow social media use in their companies. Employees are out there blabbing about you to everyone. At least in social media you can monitor what they are saying!

Love the post, Jess. Keep up the good work.

These are some very great points! I think it's easy to remember that you represent your brand, but once you leave the office, how do you act? What do you say? Are you speaking at the levels and understanding of your clients/ customers? I think we at times forget that how we talk and act with our fellow workers may not work outside the office. I also believe we can miss many great opportunities to just represent "the brand" by not saying something. I've never felt it's great to memorize the companies vision or mission statement, but having an elevator statement is never bad. Grab them with a 10 to 30 second blip of who, what, where, how and most important WHY.

These are great thoughts. I think they are things we sometimes take for granted until something bad happens and we have that, "OH NO" moment. Good lessons to remember and live by.

Regarding #9: Or even worse, what you say may get you in trouble with regulators or the SEC and land you in an orange jumpsuit.
