All of us at Lessing-Flynn are really excited to announce that original Buck Jones cartoons are going to be appearing every Tuesday on Ad Mavericks. The cartoons will poke fun of advertising, ad agencies, marketers, social media and the Ad Mavericks. We’re aiming for some serious comedic relief from the daily routine and we’re thrilled that we talked Buck into doing this for us.

Most ad agency pros in town know Buck’s work. I know that he’s been helping Lessing-Flynn out for over 20 years for a variety of different clients. If you don’t know Buck and you’re a marketer / ad agency or just have a sense of humor, here’s the skinny. Buck is the kind of guy when you ask him to send you his bio leaves out the “award winning” part. Buck has been a full-time freelance AWARD WINNING Humorous Illustrator/Cartoonist since 1985. He lives in Urbandale, Iowa and is married with two children and a sweet but stinky basset hound.

Buck’s work has appeared in a variety of markets both here in the United States and overseas, in such areas as Advertising, Books, Editorial, Magazines, Greeting Cards, Gag Cartoons and Educational, to name a few.

Some of his clients include Meredith Corporation, Scholastic, American Greetings, Team RedBull Racing USA, Dog Fancy, Bowtie Press Publishing, University of Iowa Alumni Association, Better Homes & Gardens Books, Maytag, Farm Safety 4 Just Kids and the National Pork Board.

Buck recently launched a new website directed towards the pet market and Pet Lovers, please check it out at http://www.petcartoongifts.com. You can also take a look at more of his work on his online portfolio.

If you need Buck, like we did, I’m sure he’d love to hear from you. Tell him the Ad Mavericks sent you.

Welcome to Ad Mavs, Buck. What a great example of "old media meets new." If you ever want to use Trixie the Wonderdog in one of your cartoons, please let me know. She is an expert at detecting and removing squeakers out of dog toys, with surgical precision. :~)
