This post may be cooler if you listen to a little Jack Johnson as you read. It’s up to you though…

With Earth Day approaching later this week, we’ve decided we want to do our part to make the world wide web a greener place. While anyone can pick up trash, bike to work or even install solar panels, we wanted to do something different. Something on behalf of all of the bloggers who are looking to make a difference in our world.

That’s why we’re starting with a new a celebration to coincide with Earth Day. A way for bloggers who are already green to participate. OnThursday, April 22 (Earth Day) we will be celebrating National Blog Post Recycling Day. (#NBPRD). Huh? Yes, on Earth Day and National Blog Post Recycling Day we will recycle our blog posts and your blog posts if you want us to.

We’d like you to join us by posting no “new” content on Thursday, April 22. Send us links to some of your older posts. You know, the posts that didn’t get the traffic you thought they deserved. Those posts you wrote early in your blogging career that got overlooked.  Those posts you’d like to make sure everyone sees again! Don’t want to send us the links? Do this on your own blog and invite others to join you.

Recycling blog posts will help shape a greener planet and rid the world of the overuse of fonts, tags and categories, not to mention confuse the algorithm machines at Google. By recycling old blog posts, we can learn from the past while protecting our digital future. Take time off from developing new content to help save the earth. We’re asking you all to join us by getting off your cheeto eatin’ Mountain Dew chugging, content generating butts and get outside and do something helpful!

Don’t have a blog? Recylcle an old Facebook status. On Twitter? Retweet yourself and promote your recycling efforts with the hashtag #NBPRD.

Won’t you join us?

To recycle your blog posts on our blog this Earth Day, please email your name, location, link to your post most worth recycling and, if you have one, your twitter account handle, to web@lessingflynn.com.

Let’s celebrate National Blog Post Recycling Day together!

Great idea, Ad Mavericks! The next time I’m in Des Moines, I will stop by and do a number from the AlGoreRhythms latest album.

Earth Day is my absolute favorite day of the year. Can’t wait to read all the recycled blog posts. Do they become “Com” Posts after they are recycled. Chuckle Chortle. I crack myself up.

Darn it. I already have my post for Thursday figured out and it is subjective to an event over the weekend. Maybe I will just post twice on Wednesday…

Pete, give me something old from your blog. The older the better. Something that makes you sound young and immature.

Libbie – I am still waiting for your posts to recycle. Send me that hidden gem!
