I’m Ellen Held, and besides my name being a full sentence, I am the Lessing-Flynn summer intern. I have lived in Des Moines my whole life, and wouldn’t have it any other way. I love it here, though Denver is a close second.

I started my internship a little late this summer. Studying abroad for a month in Italy was a good excuse for the folks at Lessing-Flynn. About that picture? Yeah, I’ve been playing rugby for seven years, 4 with a Des Moines high school team, and 3.5 years with the club team at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). I also enjoy playing volleyball and going bowling. Let me know if there are any leagues to join – I’m in!
On a more serious note, I am a soon to be graduate (December 2010) of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I’m studying Marketing in the College of Business Administration. I’m a research junkie at heart which is why I am minoring in Math and Statistics. Got a pile of data? I would love to wade through it! I hate it that the Cornhuskers have joined the Big 10, and now we have to play the Hawkeyes! I don’t know who to root for!
What am I doing here at Lessing-Flynn? As of now I have been focused mainly on vamping the social media and blog work for RacerWorld.com. I’m not really a dirt track girl but I’m learning! I hope to gain experience in all things marketing. The more I can learn, the better a success my time here will be. I also have the best staff ever to teach me! Thanks for making me feel welcomed everyone! Can’t wait to spend the rest of the summer here.

Very cool to see a positive Big Red influence jazzing things up at Lessing Flynn.
As a UNL grad I’m here if you need me to hold the pot steady as you stir.
