Last week – on a whim – Lessing-Flynn entered a t-shirt design contest at the Greater Des Moines Community Partnership. The Partnership is attending the “South by Southwest” conference in Austin, TX. “SXSW,” as it is commonly known, is an annual conference where thousands of technology leaders and music fans converge on Austin to share the latest in tech and music. It attracts people who want to be a part of something new and different. The typical SXSW denzien is a hipster from a tech startup trying to get buzz for a new software company, or a new band from the Heartland trying to make it big.
This year, Des Moines is being represented at SXSW by the Partnership. And they wanted to make a bold statement about Des Moines. So our t-shirt design is going to help them do it. We entered the contest on a Thursday morning and by the next day at two, found out we had won!
