In third grade I wasn’t one of the girls that played “boys chase girls” on the playground during recess. You might be thinking…what else would a third grader rather do during recess? The answer: create things.
Starting at a young age I spent my free time painting, sewing, writing, drawing – creating. Even during recess! (Yes, I’m that big of a crafting nerd.)
Now that I’m an adult, it’s not as easy to find the time or energy to create things. So, each year I put aside some “Emily time” and participate in 30 Days of Creativity.
30 Days of Creativity is a global social initiative encouraging people to create stuff (whatever that may be) every day for 30 days in June. I’ve participated in 30 Days of Creativity for the past two years and I’m excited to say that I’m going to participate again for the third year…and you should too!
Two Ways You Can Participate
- Create something each day in June and post it via your social media networks. I created a Tumblr account that I use to showcase my random creative projects and I drive people to the site using Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. This year I plan on adding Instagram to my social media mix.
- Follow along and support all of the creators. Follow @createstuff on Twitter and/or follow along on Pinterest and Twitter using the #30DOC hashtag. Hopefully you’ll be inspired enough to create something of your own!
Take a peek at the inspiration calendar and make the pledge! The world will be a better place knowing that you’re creating for 30 days…
